Well I am on my way to creating a scenario... starting with the units first... I plan on going laser then pulse then plasma then rail, so I plan to make an infantry and tank for each of these, and maybe one more weapon tech. In the mean time here is a laser tank for y'all to enjoy.

The first link is if you have already downlaoded the graphics, it is just sounds and the new ini file to implement them.
The second link is if you do not have the unit at all.

Laser Tank 1of2.zip removed after 126 downloads.

here is what the large pcx looks like and a view of the model I rendered.

Here is a preview animation of attackA. I just used default for the run bTW, looks fine in the game, and once I get some sound FX, it'll be unnoticable.

Neomega I realy like your new units, for a run animation for tanks, I usualy make the body and tracks in to seperate objects an make the body vibrate up and down (or rock forward and back) while causing the tracks to rotate 1 or 2 degrees around a point at the midle of the tank. This makes it look like the tank is traveling across rough ground. I also use a semi transparent object to represent smoke coming out of the exaust, though for a futuristic tank exaust would be unrealistic.

The flc posted above hardly does it justice. Just wait until you have a look at it in FLICster!

I have to say that when I saw the preview I was not really convinced that there was a cool unit there: The turret seemed to jump up and down and the white colour of the tank seemed odd- however I donwloaded it and took a closer look at the animations...

...well I was wrong- I started enjoying the turret preparing to fire (as I now seen it from different angles). It blends in SUPERBLY (!) with your Laser Infantry, Neomega, both in colouring as in design: Simple but Cool (five stars)!!!!!

Self..... esteem.... RISING...... acne..... RECEEDING..... confidence with women.... GROWING.... WOO HOO I am I stud, thanks for the compliments guys, now I can get laid. :P

I was a little concerend about which animation to post, because not seen in it's string of animations (from fortify to attackA to attackB to death or victory) this preview doesn't seem to make much sense. I was kinda thinking the first attack is where the laser tank discharges it's stored energy in a long concentrated blast, then it starts firing weaker, shorter burst directly from it's energy generator. The three lasers on the side were an after thought to give the tank texture and personality, they could be small lasers or a targeting system.

I spent like 20 MAN hours building and animating this tank, and for some reason I felt to lazy to take an extra hour and make a run animation. In the model though, the treads were 20 - 30 individual small rectangles, and that would of been a lot of work highlighting them all to move them around, for very slight effects, almost unoticable, once in gameplay. Next time, I might just make my vehicles bounce up and down a pixel or two, to give them a shaky look.

OFF THE SUBJECT
I dont plan on starting my scenario until I have PTW, because I know that will have many more editing options, it will be able to be played multiplayer, which means units like land transports, and land mines will have a use. I am basically trying to bring a CIV II scenario I created, but posted way too late to be appreciated, to life.

hey very nice unit just downloaded it.

The bad thing is there is so many units for the future now but no era, we need firaxis to make era not hardcoded but i dunno if they will

keep up the good work :goodjob:

oh..... my... god,.... SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh I recognize those sounds well... they are the sounds from civ II MOO and Xcom scenarios. I used those alot in my civ II scenario.
