OH no! Iv'e deleted the bloody 3D model
But don't worry, it only took 40 minuites to make:) so I should have the whole unit ready by the end of the weekend.

Any way, Ive been trawling through blue prints for all the tanks used by the minor powers in WWII, like Italy and Hungary and am having trouble telling thewm apart. I saved a couple of pictures and then couldn't tell which was which. So, I have decided to make a Generic light and medium tank for WWII era battles. this is the Light tank, based on a cross between the russian, japanese and hungarian light tanks. I have made almost the entire unit civ coloured (a lot easier than I thought) so that wit carefully picked Civilization colours, it looks like individual tank designs.
(with that in mind be sure to change the french from pink)
Here is an 8way of the Grey "german" version of the light tank;

I think I will make the medium tank this size, maybe a litle bigger. The light tank needs to be smaller. Here is a shot of the "russian" Red tank;

Acording to the readme for the most recent patch, the later civ colours can now be used without crashing the game. I havn't tried so I don't know, but the colours from 15- 32 used to cause trouble. Some of them are realy good for WWII colours

Please feel free to comment. This is the flc file so you can see the rest of the colours yourself;:)

I may even do a Civ coloured heavy tank, based on a version of my King tiger. Not much use for WWII scenarios(although you could do diferent colour camoflage for desert, forest, SS division etc..) but good for standard games of CIV III:king:

O.K. for something more meaty; A civ coloured TigerII.
This could be used for a Heavy tank.
This shot is of an SS tiger, black coloured. In response to fequent requests, I have made it slightly smaller. I think all the tanks should be as big as posible. The firaxis tank (actualy a Sherman) is realy quite big, as is the panzer, altough it represents either a MKIII or MKIV panzer.

The panzer is a Pzkw III (looks like a characture of one to me though), you can determine if its a III or IV by the number of wheels, Pzkw III's have 6, and Pzkw IV's have 8.

Maybe this light tank could be the tank that comes with Motorized Transportation and the standard tank could come with the discovery of Radio. I hear that tanks as an effective weapon didn't come of age until they got radio's built into them.
