Units disappeared?

So, playing the game, I zoomed all the way out to get a view of the globe,and when I zoomed back in, I noticed that all my units had disappeared-I mean, they're still there, but the graphics no longer show up on the map, just the cities and tile improvements. I've fiddled with the settings, even started a new game, and the units still aren't showing up. Anyone have any idea what happened?
