Now if only they would grab the bits and pieces of the suggestions in this thread and change the happiness in Civilization V.
Is the company know for listening to the community regarding suggestions and complaints?
Some rare companies actually do that.

They do. I've seen some things from the ideas and suggestions thread appear almost litteraly in the game through patches and such.

Even more so than ideas and suggestions they like to take ideas from popular mods and implement them. Especially if the modder figured out an efficient way to implement the feature. Some of the Civ V patches so far have taken ideas, bugfixes, or balance changes from mods and added them to the base game.
