For those of you who haven't seen it, check this footage. It shows the violent speed of the second plane penetrating the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center, from the other angle. Its right at the top of this link.

Yes, totally disturbing.

guyz i am total drained of emotion. i keep trying to cheer myself up but nothing works. The only thing that seems to help is conversing with you all here......i feel empty and vunerable.... i got out of my car at woork and heard a dump truck bed door shut and almost hit the deck thinking it was a bomb.....they have reach deep this time........my mom's local county office received a bomb threat this morning...IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all feel the pain and will for a very long time But we must all stand together and truley UNITE as a nation and by God's Grace we shall overcome.
Just Hold your head up and know that you are an AMERICAN! Be PROUD my freinds be PROUD!

i usually stay in the civ 3 forums, but this is different... i live 60 miles from NYC in nortern NJ, and that that happened so close, really shook me... im getting over it, but still, its gonna take a while.

anyway, just think of what you do have, and that everything is all right for you, and all(or most) of your loved ones. My dad was supposed to commute to long island that day, and he didnt(thank god!) something else came up. my friends dad was in the wtc the day BEFORE the crisis. we are very lucky, and are grateful

others are not so lucky. people in my school have parents that work there EVERY day, so it kinda didnt work out right for them

I know the feeling. I always feel this way when there's a terror attack in Israel. It feels so vulnerable. Knowing nowhere's safe. Thinking, "if I was there what could I do to save myself?" and knowing the answer is "nothing". What if I was in that tower when it was hit? what if I was in that restaurant/disco/cofee shop/car/building when it was hit?
The answer is simple
I'd be dead

RedSox, welcome to OT. We're all very glad you and your family are okay. Please send our love and prayers to your classmates who may have lost family and/or friends, or who are still wondering and don't know. Some of your friendships may be very taxed in the coming days as you deal with friends who are dealing with great loss. Be strong and compassionate, and remember we are all behind you here at CFC. Come by any time for some comfort of your own.

peace, Leowind

Isn't it just so creepy to see these terror acts in places you know, knowing you could get hurt? I live 15 miles from where terror acts happened. I remember that during the pizza restaurant suicide bombing I went to buy some note sheets for the guitar. A few days later there was another suicide bomber, across the street from the music store.
I guess that's what terror is all about. I've never heard of a country seriously hurt by terror attacks. Even the attack on the WTC killed "only" 0.004% of the US population. The terrorists will need 25,000 attacks like this one in order to destroy the US. The more important effect is the psychological one. "you can run, but you can't hide". The only way to fight this is by continuing life as usual. You should be sorry, but never be afraid. Thats what they want and thats what they'll never get.

Months or years from now, hopefully America and the world will not "forget" as they begin to feel secure again. For those of us who fight the wars, and will fight this one (which will probably be much bloodier than many suspect)... may the world never forget this past week, even as collateral casualties mount and American soldiers are killed and maimed on faraway battlefields. And may we never again have a yellow-stained coward as Commander in Chief (like Truman, Johnson, or Clinton) who betrays the American Fighting Man in the field.
