Seriously, if you're going for religion, and you happen to miss out on getting the great points for a great prophet.. What the hell are you supposed to do with all the faith points, and with the the great prophet great points you've accumulated??

Wait untill a religion spread to your cities, you can then use said faith. GP points are sent to the Heavens!

The Great Prophet Points accumulated are lost forever. However you can still use your faith later on to aid with patronizing great merchants, engineers, and scientists.

How does one use the faith, I don't see a faith purchase button unless I have a religion. If another religion comes along it doesn't seem to help at all. I figured that was glitched from the patch or simply wasn't fixed.

You use faith or gold to purchase a great person the same way: On the Great Person screen, it shows your progress for each of the next ones up (one per type), and how much faith or gold it would cost to finish buying them outright. If you have enough faith or gold, the amount is a clickable button that spends it.

Faith is also good for the Theocracy Government even if you don't found a religion of your own. Theocracy as a government allows you to faith purchase units in ANY city you own. Very useful for some military timing attacks.
