Yesterday, as I walking into a garage in our apartment complex, I saw my mother walking towards me. She said hello and I replied, but I was quite shocked - as my mother had died in 2009. Then I realized it was actually a neighbor, half her age, who was walking towards me. And though only her hair was the same color as my mother's had been, somehow her face had morphed into my mother's for a few seconds. Then I remembered it was my mother's birthday; she would have been 85.
I'm not looking for explanations. They would be a long way beside the point, and they'd belong in another thread, not this one. The important thing for me was that it reminded me of an important anniversary.
Would other civvers like to share experiences like this? I'm not looking for anything fantastic. I'm not looking for a debate on how these things happen. I'm simply interested in unusual occurrences - similar or otherwise - that turned out to be personally meaningful.
