I updated my SMAC(X) Rush Building Chart with detailed instructions on how to use it! (BTW, I previously called the chart the "Mineral Cost Chart" which wasn't a very accurate description of what it was used for).

The chart helps you calculate the exact amount of energy to spend for a partial rush build so that the unit is completed on the next turn. If you use the amount that the game suggests you can waste a lot of energy.

BTW, when I was first researched the area of rush building I remember stumbling across a thread that described how you may want to overspend on rush build costs since some minerals are carried over to the next unit in the queue, and how you can save energy when rush building the next unit. I haven't incorporated this into my gameplay, but I probably should. If anyone stumbles across threads discussing this please post the URL here.

I have made major changes to my rush building chart since my last update! I have incorporated a much better format for rush building units developed by MariOne of Apolyton. I have also developed some examples showing how to use the chart.
 
You can,t rush build on two consecutive turns in the same city, can you? The version I play always tells me that I have to wait at least 1 turn between rush builds. This makes the calculations for extra mineral overflow a waste if the city is already producing 10 or more minerals. Also according to the manual, only 10 minerals will over flow on to the next production, regardless of how many exta (in excess of 10) minerals there are.
 
A maximun ten minerals will carry over. The warning about not rush building two turn in a row occurs only during the maitenance phae at the beginning of the turn. You can go back to the back to base during the turn and rush build then.

jonel1111, I have had no problems rush-building in a given city each turn. I haven't noticed if it matters whether I do it during upkeep, or later, however, I usually rush build AFTER upkeep has been completed.
