Useful mods

After using InfoAddict for a while and then playing a Vanilla game, I really missed the detailed breakdown I could get with the mod. I don't think I've ever play unmodded again - all that information that it gives you is just too valuable to pass up.

Do you guys have any other mods that you would recommend? Looking to try out a few, perhaps.
 
I'm still browsing them myself. Lots of them look useful. The City States Diplomatic mod will probably prepare you for Gods & Kings (although personally I don't want a mod just like G&K--I want something different). City-Pacifism mod stops the "please kill this other CS" missions. Lots of interesting wonders, although most of them seem overpowered. I also like SloMo Science, so that our units are not obsolete by the time I'm ready to launch a war. An unfortunate side-effect, though, is that it effectively buffs GS'es. GS'es don't need buffing. The Beyond the Future mod looks interesting, but it doesn't quite seem complete yet. And I'm not sure I want to make the game yet longer anyway. The Tree Growth mod I definitely like for sure.
 
I think the Unofficial Patch is good.They just released a new version.

Can't get it to work on my game, though:(
 
I'm definitely going to try out the city-pacifism mod, unless I'm Mongolia "attack city-state x" never rolls my way. I'll look at the unofficial patch, but I would love to see a list of fixes first, since I imagine it would involve gameplay changes.

It tells some of the things that it does when you look at it in the mods list.I highly reccomend it!
 
I use "unofficial Patch and Vanilla gameplay" on Marathon and love it. After version 139 the barbs heal after attack so that makes for interesting early gameplay. I wouldnt suggest using "raging Barbs" in that case.

Also after said version your second scout can become an archer on level up. Which is great if you start with a warrior only.
 
The Vanilla Enhanced Mod (VEM) with the Unofficial Patch is really good. For example, the Scout has its own unit class line called vanguard units. Also, the broken RA and Great Scientists of vanilla are tweaked for a more balanced game. I recommend checking out all the changes (there are ALOT now) over in its subforum in the Mod Projects forum. Thal is always looking for input and new ideas to try out.

Also CivWillard mod is a must for me. Makes finding trade opportunities much quicker.
 
CIVILIZATION_NiGHTS is good and so is Darkhours Reality. Also there is a mod that adds random events to the game and other items. if anyone finds it, thanks
