Ok...

i do this A LOT:
Build tons or go enslave tons of privateers.

then i basicly set some to explore, most stop and ask for instructions if they see another ship (which then i tell to attack) or i place them in harbor cities sometimes taking out newly built ships.

does using hidden nationality units effect your reputation (do they really not know its me?).

sometimes a nation, even those without good relations have no reaction on me to such attacks.
sometimes the nation suddenly drops in "attitude" next turn after i just waxed some of his ships...

i dont know if its to do with knowing im the one cauing trouble :p .

Well, as far as I know, the AI knows everything, but it won't act like it does. It does know you attacked them with your privateer, but it will act like it doesn't, just like a human wouldn't know. So, if I'm right, the privateers have nothing to do with your changing reputation. Just keep blowing their ships out of the water!

i heard this in another thread cant remember which but if you attack five turns in a row you take a rep hit but if attack four turns wait five and attack again you dont take a rep hit but Never attack five turns in a row

That's weird. Is that to simulate that they finally find out who are making the attacks. And I hope you mean attitude hit.

I think they just get pissed at losing ships, and are mad to everyone...
