Using maps

Sorry if this question has already been asked- if it has i would appreciate a redirect!

I recently started up a game and I am enjoying the map. Is there a way I can access the save file, take the map and play as a different leader on this map?

When you press 'save game' there is an option (lower left, I think) that says "save map". This will allow you to to use the same map again, just be aware that all start positions / goodies will not be in the same places.

i.e it only saves the geographical data, but not he actual game data.
