v158.2 partly incompatible with CSD Mod (v.29)

Hi, I've tried everything I can to make this work, but to no avail. Whenever I load the VEM/CiVUp mod with the City-State Diplomacy Mod, I lose the special abilities gained for various Diplomatic Buildings via the Patronage Branch of the Social Policy Tree. In other cases, I gain the Patronage abilities, only to lose all of the buildings & units you can normally build in the CSD mod. Has anyone else seen this bug &, if so, how can it be fixed?

Set "USING_CSD" to 1 in the vem options file, and "USING_VEM" to 1 in the csd options file.
