Here are a couple suggestions I have that would improve immersion in game.
I’m not including anything that would be considered a major overhaul, I feel like that horse has been beat well to death.
-More flavorful text dialogue when interacting with the AI, both civs and independent powers.
-AI leaders approaching you during their turn to complement or antagonize the player.
In Civ V it was common for the AI to approach you and it made the leaders feel like actual people with personalities.
-Unique units having different models for each tier.
Feels weird having WW2 American marines fighting early 19th century French imperial guards in 1914 with the same combat strength.
Even slight differences between tiers would make this much less jarring.
-Option to watch combat during the AI’s turn.
AI is essentially forced into quick combat and there’s no option to focus the camera on combat. Makes it super hard to follow wars between AI and see where your troops are being attacked from.
I’ll add more as I think of it.
