As the title of the thread suggests, I was playing the Greek World Scenario, as Rome. I had founded Christianity, then I gave Theology as a gift to Didon, and a few turns later (can't quite remember the interval, it may have been the same turn) I got a message saying that "Christianity has been founded in a distant land". My holy city became just a normal city with Christianity:mad:

The strange thing was, on the replay it said it had been founded in a city recently captured by Didon

I was extremely frustrated, to say the least. Has this happened to anyone else? I've only had this happen in the Greek World scenario, and that was the only time I've ever played it.

Not a bug. The scenario attempts to recreate history with its major events. If you get Theo before the scripted date, yes you get the holy city, but once 30 AD reached, a script made Hierousalem (Jerusalem) the destined holy city of Christianity. Since the game is coded to have only one holy city per religion, thus the previous holy city is relegated to simple religious city. :)
