I just won a diplomatic game and got no FMV. I was kinda dissapointed cause the Space ship had one. Is the space ship victory the only one with a FMV?

What's an FMV?

FMV - victory movie ?

As far as I know the answer is yes - all other vistory conditions just display a popup box

'you have won a xxxxxxxx victory' kinda disappointing - maybe the aim of the game has and always has been the spaceship victory ?

oh I see... thanks

edit: Fmv= full motion video( I think?, its what they called those movies from my playstation days...)

I was also dissapointed, that they didn't include victory movies. It would be a nice reward, for a game well played.

It does seem very weird that there's one, but only one.

Sorta supports Zouave's accusation af rushed game. Not that I disagree with him. I love civ3 - but certain areas did seem rather unfinished.

I want a better thing than that love you / hate you screen, too! It's funny once, even twice, but then :(

And I do miss the movies! Victory and Wonder ones.

on the other hand, we did get a very nice after action review :D :goodjob:

Hey movies! Yeah! Ideas (parental warning: may not be suitable for children under 17):

1. Domination victory: film starts like the intro film to Tom Clancy's Rogue Spear, (insert how you behaved during the wars) except shows you fighting palace guards, then finally entering the room where the opposing leader shoots himself. If you used nukes, start with a shot of the opposing leader hiding in a bunker, followed by mushroom cloud, and debris falling, then cuts to the above scene.

How you behaved during the wars:

Several to choose from. How many times you pop rushed and starved citizens. If you were brutal with putting down resistance you see mass executions. If you were slow putting down resistance, you see unhappy citizens.

2. Cultural victory: film shows sparkling cities, all of your wonders, happy citizens.

3. Diplomatic victory: film shows inside the UN, deal making, bribes, then the vote.

Trinity: :D

the earlier your went for Republic and Democracy, the less you see troops trampling protesters. The more you conwuered, the more massacers you get. Ancient wars gives Roman legions fighting down Gauls, Middle Ages --> Crusaders, and so on..... maybe even civ-specific!

And how about showing clips from each era on how you behaved during those eras. Yes, make them civ specific, too.

I miss those wonder splashes that civ II had too, (firaxis, are you listening?)
