Since there's almost no discussion going on in the multiplayer discussion area let's have a frank discussion about the possible virtue paths: Any good players out there want to chime in and discuss the advantages and disadvantages associated with going:

    Deep into Prosperity:

    Knowledge then Might:

    Prosperity Settler then Industry:

Prosperity Settler then Might for Scavenging:

Prosperity Settler then Deep into Knowledge:

Any viable strategies not containing the free prosperity settler???

Prosperity free settler , free worker is ideal as it gives u the option of rushing or long game.

If you go Knowledge first ur prepping for a long game really and so if ur not on the edge of the pangea (protean) prepare to die when a good player purity 2 rushes u with 8 gunners and marines.

The flaw in this game is that rapid expansion is a must since health going negative isnt a problem so going industry is more useful than continuing prosperity or if u are going to rush, going might is more useful and if you are going to rush u are going purity so might is a must with the buff from shooting aliens.

Our MP team usually goes for free settler, except our ARC/artists guy that goes for Might and Espionage bonus. We usually play MP as a non-teamed team vs Apollo AI or duel. I do not trust Knowledge tree. I like explorers very much but Barrè artists / Prosperity eliminates the risks while going for Knowledge tree would put just everything on one card.

Each game takes 2-3 sessions, so not much experience, 4-5 games. Definitely want to try free settler then Might.

I have tried also scientists and rush for food wonders. Weakness: you are relatively vulnerable to spies and a pre-Affinity 4 rush. Hopefully the nature protects you from ship bombardment or overland invasion. Krakens near your ports and miasma forests are good friends of yours. You must go Purity or Harmony, probably.

    Summa summarum:
    1) Barrè, artists, tectonic scanner
    2) Prosperity for free settler, then anything but Science; I tend to emphasize explorers
    3) Third city too!
    4) Trade routes

    Research:
    1) Observatory if exploration goes well or I have oil
    2) Genetics if I wand pharmalab and go to wonder
    3) Alien Biology if I want safe trade routes and remove miasma

However, I may have undervalued Espionage. It may be exceptionally powerful. So, researching computing is not a bad idea, especially for a pre-Supremacy that can use the ships that are upgraded with Observatory + Firaxite to speed 4. One of the friends uses that and Might with ARC and just coups the AI cities too easily.

This thread isn't really in regard to going against the AI. It is a human vs human multiplayer thread. Please discuss experience vs human beings only. Thanks!
