war declarations after nuking

Another thing i noticed while playing:

I built the ICBM in my capital, then I nuked Washington (i was at war with the Americans), which resulted in a war declaration of several other civs. I wasn't expecting this, but if you think about it , it makes sense.

If you nuke somebody, everybody not allied with you is likely to turn on you. This generally don't apply if you use nukes in response to somebody else nuking you - partly 'cos everybody is going to be beating up the original nuker then.

Need 250 more posts to get an avatar - think of something to say... I think this is pretty sensible behavior. If a Civ today (say, China) attacked a Western ally with nukes (even a 'tweener country like Russia), the rest of the West would quickly go to war, if not with nukes then a big-time conventional/stealth campaign.

not uh. The AI is stupid. I once nuked egypt in all the cities, france declares war on me. And 1 turns before they were at war. I nuked france and everyone declared war in me. I then nuked everyone and my closest ally declared war on me. In the end every had to clean up alot of pollution.

I have had it where my allies have declared war on me for using nukes. It usually takes a few more nukes for the allies to turn against you after your other opponents do.

When I start using nukes, I make sure I have enough for everyone to have an equal share. This ensures that when I start nuking people, that I don't run out of my wrath prematurly for everyone else to get their turn.

Actually, when you shoot off a nuclear weapon ALL other civilizations immediately declare war on you. I'm not sure what happens with an MPP or Military Alliance, but they will immediately declare war on you as soon as the deal is over and possibly earlier.

Well, not necessarily. In one of my games, basicly the whole world was at war with Germany. I nuked Berlin, and no one declared war on me. I started to get a lil nuke happy, n nuked it again. only then did the rest of the world declare war on me

I have been able to launch one or two nukes before the AI declares war on me. I am at good standings with everyone in the game. But, all the other civs turned furious or annoyed with me.

Everyone that is furious at you (and is looking for a reason to go to war with you), most of the time, will declare war on your after you launch you first nuke. Even when I nuke an friend's enemy, I have had them declare war on me. (If they did not want my help, then they should have just said so).

With players that I had a MPP with, I've been able to lauch up to about 4 nukes before they declared war on me. I am not sure about MAs.

I have test launched a nuke in the ocean, (like 1950s testing), being the first one to have nukes, and no one declared war on me. I have not tried extended "testing" in my games though. People still got annoyed and furious at me.

Hint: Make sure people are happy with you when you start launching. You may be able to get a free nuke launching or two.

Even civs that are on your side will declare war on you..from my experiences at least. Nukes are global killers, as they effect everything. So be extremely careful as to what you do with nukes.

i did the same and almost the hole world made war with me and the nukes went flying

Also, be ready for your own people to get unhappy in a hurry. When I launched a nuke I never saw so many WTKD's end so quickly!

I remember my first nuclear war. I had about 14 of them and i totally destroyed the americans. Virtually everyone declared on me and about 6 nukes hit me. Still I was able to recover and win.

My experience is that every Civ not at war with the civ you are nuking is gonna declare war on you.

If you are at war with someone and you nuke them nothing happens so if you just say to them we are at war during peace then you can nuke away.
