War with Rome- Foreign Invasions

Excellent reporting on the war with Rome, Ravensfire. That's the Ravensfire of old coming to life. And thanks for commanding our troops to Victory!

I was laughing through most of the last hour, and then CT said something about stopping at just 10 turns. Somehow, with Veii just waving the red flag and laughing at me, I just couldn't do it.

Ahh, it was fun running amok in the hills of Rome ... :p

Ravensfire, the nice people with the white jackets will escourt you to your office. :mischief:

Someday I've gotta get myself positioned where it is ok with "the boss" to run a play session in the middle of the day. There would be a lot more energy to have fun than there is at 0-dark-30. :crazyeye:

Another thing to consider is claiming some more luxuries for ourselves. We could colonise both Incense and Silk, but we would then have to prevent the AI from settling too close to the colony so that we lose our colony. There are also the Horses to the North West of Rome. Although we do not need these ourselves, we don't want France or Persia to get them either so we'll also need to protect them. I've indicated the resources on the following screenie, and added Xs to tiles we will need to stop the AI settling on. The troops to do the blocking would not have to be a permanent wall (although if there were enough free it could be) but we would need enough mobile troops in each area to patrol and block as required. There is already a French Settler in the Region to the North of Rome that needs blocking from settling. It's currently on a mountain but we need to stop it settling in the Silk/Horses region.

The other issue is our Saltpetre colony in the South. As the Persian city will block our access to the Saltpetre by Rome (until we raze it that is) we need to keep our southern colony a bit longer. This will mean that we also have to block settling around that colony in addition to protecting the colony itself.

Our Minister of Foreign Affairs is still away from his desk, so I'm planning to start a series of polls to help determine what to do.

Poll 1 - When should we establish a Peace Treaty with Rome?
Option 1 - Immediately!
Option 2 - After we've cleared them off the continent!
Option 3 - Never! Enemies for life!
Option 4 - Other
Option 5 - Abstain

Poll 2 - Next Target for the Cavalry?
Option 1 - Persia
Option 2 - France
Option 3 - None
Option 4 - Other
Option 5 - Abstain

I do not want any new war starting until we're done with Rome, and will not be until the next turn chat. Polls will go up after lunch.

Yup.

We have a deal with France that has 1 turn left to go.

We have deals with Persia, including the Military Alliance, that have up to 9 turns to go.

Those 9 turns will allow us to finish the war with Rome, and reset to take down Persia. I'm guessing that Persia will take around 10 turns to eliminate the major cities, so we'll probably use our TC to evict the Romans from this continent, and TimBentley's to evict the Persians.
