Warlords Scenarios loading crash to desktop

I just installed Civilization Warlords. I can play the regular game fine (and like the new changes). But if I try to play a scenario, the game crashes to desktop after selecting the scenario. I was able to get through once and played briefly, but when I saved the game and tried to load the saved scenario, it crashed again. I've tried different scenarios but with no luck.

Windows just gives a generic error message: "Sid Meier's Civilization 4: Warlords has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience . . ."

This happens whether I select the scenario through "Warlords Scenarios" or "Play a Scenario".

Please let me know if you have any ideas about how to fix this. Drivers are current. Recently defraged and did a disk cleanup. Thanks.

In case anyone else had this problem, here's what finally fixed this bug:

Uninstalled Earthlink Total Access, and uninstalled Earthlink Protection Center.
