There have been a few threads about weather and that have discussed it, but this is a bit different and only dealing with the Aircraft vs Weather.

So in the real world aircraft can be damaged in storms or tornados or hurricanes

My idea would be first to create two ranges of aircraft one is the normal range and the other is a range that only applies when some sort of weather system is in that cities area. The Weather range would be half the normal range and would only be to show that is as far as the plane can go without the chance of being damaged or destrioed. You could still go as far as the normal range will let you but if you get past the weather range the plane could be damged or destrioed-- some possible tech could extend this range

no one like this idea at all

So??? If you include weather you should have this be possible

disastrous weather, events, and phenomena, all cool ideas because they become historical events. Including weather on a regular basis in the time span of the game makes no sense, therefore, equipment based on it seems a little strange. :)

What you never heard of a Fifty year storm before???? :p

I think people would have to over look this aspect of the game because its impossible to change as it would take to much time to run through a full game.

NO, i don't want weather in the game. Civ games are supposed to be played on a strategic level. Things like weather should not be in the game at all. If it is to be present at all, it should be 'long turn climate change'

Just a note about playing on a strategic level, D-Day was postponed due to very bad weather the day it was supposed to take place.

(By the way, If, and that is a bid if, weather is included and if it affects units, I don't think that it should be limited to aircraft. I would also include ships, especially in the early ages.)

A few tanks fighting two other tanks in civ3 represents a war. By contrast, D-Day was only a battle. Now you see the difference between strategic level and tatical level.
