I'm not an expert on this, so I'd like to know what others think. If I had to pick, though, I'd go with with The Parthenon. Anyone found something they try to build every game? How about stuff you never bother with?

For me it depends on the map type and type of victory I'm going for. Pyramids and Hanging Gardens is a great combo to get anytime, especially if you have the philosphical trait and access to stone. Stonehenge is nice for that quick cultural boost, plus it's not real expensive to build, and I usually go for that if I intend on going for a cultural victory. I'll usually build the Colossus if I can because any extra income I can get always helps. I don't know, there's not really that many that I try for every game, except for the UN, which I usually bee-line to once I've researched Liberalism and Economics.

If I'm on alot of coast or a peninsula (or playing Europe, since I'm always greece) I like the great lighthouse and collossus. Both of them Greatly boost a seafairing countires economy.

The REALLY good thing about Stonehenge (as opposed to building obelisks in each city, or using other means to get a bit of culture) is the GP points. You can build it quite early and get a Great Prophet in a reasonable amount of time (especially if you also build a temple and/or the Oracle in the same city).

I go for Stonehenge to expand my borders, then the Oracle to establish a religion (free tech=coad of laws).

It depends on your gameplan really. I would say the Great Library... turn that city onto a super specialists and specialist science. I would also build an Academy for +50% research boost.

Pyramids if you want all of the government civics.
The Oracle for a free tech. (I always go for this one - especially for the Therocracy civic, plus I get a free mid-religion to boot).

Some wonders are better for team play than they are for single player play (since the effect goes to all team members)...

Like some have said, it depends on your playstyle.

I usually don't try for a wonder until I am in a position to let one of my cities work on one exclusively, however I am starting to question that strategy. If possible, I plan on trying for more early wonders next game (I am about to finish a marathon game). Specifically, I am going to discover how much faster a civ can expand with the Pyramid wonder allowing you to use the State Property Civic (mini - Settler spread strategy).

you can't use State Propety with Pyramids...it's an economic civic.

it's the goverment civic you can only choose.

1. despotism
2. hereditiary
3. representative
4. police state
5. universal suffrage
