Just wondering what everybody thought the "must have" mods for Civilization IV were? I'd like to download a few, but there are so many I'm pretty overwhelmed.

So, what's the general consensus on must have mods?

Thanks everybody.

Well, if I could speak for entire community for a second :smoke: :D I'd say the absolute must haves are:

Snaitf's Show Attitude Mod

12monkey's Modified Special Domestic Advisor

homegrown's Simple Game Clock Mod

SupremeOverlord's Enhanced foreign advisor

Willowmound's ActualQuotes diplomacy text

and last but definitely not least

Sevo's Civilopedia

P.S. None of these actually modify gameplay, they just enhance the game by offering better interface. If you were actually looking for game modifying mods then I doubt you'd find a solid consensus.

fall from heaven is a must have (original fantasy mod)
further the colonization of the moon (which is far from completion)
also the superciv mod is very nice (adds most of the custom made civs to your game) or the next level mod (adds a lot of minor tribes/smaller countries to the game)

the first 2 can be found in the modpack section and the last 2 in the new civilizations section

@Rabbit, White:

Were you able to install those mods together? Some files conflicted here. Maybe you can put up a modpack with all of them, i.e. your CustomAssets folder?

I'll see what I can do.

Sevos civfanatic fusion
Europa europa
Fall from heaven

These are in my opinion the true must have mods.

The best? Europa Europa.
And possibly Sevos' too.

I'll chime in to say that if you want a typical Civ4 experience, SevoMod's fusion of some of the greatest stuff here on civfanatics is a quick solution. If you want something entirely different, go for Fall From Heaven. Especially the spells add something really cool to the game.

Also, you may want to look into SmartMap, a mapscript that works well with both SevoMod and FFH. I like the maps it creates more than the maps civ 4's own mapscripts make.

Blue Marble Terrain Mod - Coldfever
Tectonics map script - LDiCesare
FexFX Bigger & Longer v.1.52 - FexFX

I have the same problem.... Problem?...Erh, difficulties, as an earlier poster, with not being able to combine the mods, that I like. Most of which have been mentioned in this thread.

Does anyone know how to use several mods at the same time?
