What is the problem is going?

My friend is having Toshiba laptop. He facing some problem with his laptop. The problem is, laptop cannot be power on. He went so many service center and they told, need to change mother board chips but there is no guarantee it is again work. Actually what is the problem with that computer?

Sounds like it will be more expensive to fix than to just get a new one.

My old laptop have a broken power button but can be turned on with the (button on the) docking station.
