Nuclear Submarines That can launch SLBMs (Submarine-launched ballistic missiles) as well as an AGEIUS Cruiser and a classic Cruiser.

I want to see the Privateer to juice up naval warfare and allow international piracy. Privateers could actually make navies cost efficient in the game, especially if they plunder the ships they sink.
Modern navies would be fun but by the time these techs are available the game is pretty much over.

Any more units would be good, the more the better. However, I find I use Naval Units very little so it would have to be UU before I'd use it probably.

Curragh. I want to be able to colonize over coasts much more quickly to give the game more variety (trans-oceanic civs)

Anyone remember the Dreadnought? If you got that first you could set about everyone elses wood and sail Navy, leaving their coastal cities vulnerable.

It'd kick botty as a fisheries pillager too - although naval units SO need to be able to bombard improvements.

I voted Aegis Cruiser due to it's AA capabilities, although thinking about it, what would be the point in CIV4?

I wish naval units didn't take so bloody long to heal - I voted hospital navy. I can't remember what the difference between an AEGIS cruiser and the Destroyer is (is it significant enough to justify it being added?). If one of them was given the ability to attack units on coastal spaces then it'd be worth it.

For the late game you could try building 'Red Cross' in your best coastal production city.
Instant medic promoted warships, and if you have a drydock or other XP boost you can add March or Medic II immediately.

i think that destroyers are generally escort craft, specializing in anti-air and anti-submarine, whereas cruisers are a little larger and considered capable of independant operation, but don't write that on the test because i'm not 100%. i know cruisers are still often used in escort duty, and the arleigh-burke class destroyers are considered (by their shipbuilder, at least) to be, ton for ton, the most powerful warship ever built. AEGIS is just the targeting and weapons system, the boat is the ticonderoga class cruiser. i guess civ wanted to make it a bit more international, rather than american navy, which is understandable. i think cruisers and destroyers are a bit too similar maybe, but a destroyer that upgrades to an AEGIS cruiser in the very late game would be great, i think.

There are a whole host of naval units i would like to see in the exp. although since it is a choice it would have to be cruisers of some sort. Preferably heavy industrial style crusiers, as this era has too few naval units compared to reality. it should have a higher combat strength than destroyer and lower bombardment value than a BB.

I think a Cruiser should have more of a bombardment rating than a BB.
A BB gun is not that powerful and i think Cruisers have like big cannons and missles and stuff.
