What to do with downloaded patch?

I just downloaded the Civ IV patch 1.61. I put it in My Documents/My downloads. What do I do now to get it to do its thing with Civ IV? Please give step-by-step, very easy instructions because I'm not clever at these things! Thanks very much.

Run the EXE and follow the directions, which should be very few

It has been a very long time since I ran the 1.61 update, but it should have autoran from downloading in-game...otherwise manually run the update.
