In Civ 3 the Earth Map was quite forgotten. So I hope it'll return in cIV.

* EARTH MAP

* Europe

I'd like bigger maps with more details. And less restrictions like the current 512 cities limit (although this is more engine than maps)

There are world maps for Civ3 available on the Net. The problem is that if you use the biggest ones, then it takes like an hour for the computer to play its turn (on Athlon XP 2600 and 512MB of RAM)! The game engine needs to be changed for sure. It's way too slow.

ok to map skills

what about scenarious???

* the same in C3C.
plus what???

WWII in Europe?
The rise of:
- the Ottomans;
- the Mongols;
- other

Rule Italy
Rule Germany
Scotland vs England

...

The 100 year war between France and Germany
Viking invasion of the Brittsh isles
80 year war between The Netheralnds and Spain
Invasion of the Moors in Spain
Invasion of the Turks in South Eastern Europe
Colonisation of North America
Play the Soviet union, starting at 1917.

Seeing as I've faught a lot of interesting wars in the variety of scenarios, I'd like something different.

Goal: Winning the cold war without letting nuclear war break out.

Instead of a space race or a cultural victory, a twist on a domination victory.

Americans (and Europeans)
- 3 points for a democratic nation in Africa / South America / Asia
- 1 point for a Yankee puppet dictator in Africa / South America / Asia

Soviets (and China)
- 3 points for a communist nation in Africa / South America / Asia
- 1 point for a Bloc puppet dictator in Africa / South America / Asia

The idea is you play as empires who have their hands tied by the UN... and thus have to use tactics like embargos, spy networks, economic policies, financing wars secretly and illegally, and diplomacy to spread your ideology.

To me that would be loads of fun and paradigm shifting for Civ.

how about playin

the war between ancient rome and carthage

How about they don't include any but include better creation tools.

Scenario's can be played in the GOTM. Maybe Firaxis can assign money and knowledge to GOTM. Maybe they already do, I don't know. I do know that not everybody wants to go through all the effort to build a scenario, but would like to play a ready made one. Maybe you could download a scenario for a price. just an idea..

F-uckin HELLL YEAH

I want a (huge...with East coast USA + north africa) World War 2 Europe scenario!!

Player made ones are good, but are subject to looong loading times and crashes etc, plus a professionally done one could include new rules to allow US troops to operate Britain (especially air force!) and so on.

I beg to differ, ComradeDavo. There is no reason a player made one should take longer to load than a professionally made one. The ones that we made for Conquests, were made with the same tools that shipped with the game. As far as crashes go, ditto.

I would not want the professionally made ones to have rules that I as a modder could not incorporate into my scenarios. That would be counter to the whole idea of modability.
