What version of Civ2 do I have?

I have noticed in some threads that the different versions of Civ 2 work a little differently, or that the AI diplomacy for instance i more difficult in some versions and so on.

I have this CD with CIV II, that at least includes the multiplayer function, Fantastic Worlds.

How do I find out what version it is? And if somebody happens to know I'd be interested in what characteristics that version has

IIRC you can check for the version in the title of the window Game Options, which can be opened from the file menu. I'm not very good at the differences between the versions though.

Check the Downloads/Utilities pages here or at Apolyton.Net; one of them has a list of the different versions, as well as updating patches to bring you up to current versions. The most recent version number of the Classic game is 2.4.2; I don't know about MultiPlayer Gold Edition.
