I bought the game as soon as it was out, but soon got bored of it and uninstalled of my computer, now after seeing all of the mods and stuff I am considering installing once again.

Are there proper scenarios?
Is there any good mod packs? The ones that where out when I had the game loaded on were pretty useless
Is there any good units?
Is there anything to solve all the problems I had making alterations to the game? ie it had all sorts problems when I attempted to put different wonders on

Answer yes to most of these questions, then I might be convinced

Depends on the reasons you got bored.

There are ALOT of GREAT units in the civ3 customisation section.

There a few good mod packs.

The first proper scenarios are arriving and with PTW coming so is multiplayer.

P.S get the new patches they make a difference.

Well, there are surely good mod packs. I like mine, which is a lot more realistic than the nonsense Firaxis gave us. Of course mod packs have their limitations. Better units are in the mod packs. The latest Editor (after 1.29) does not seem to result in crashing as the crappy previous editors did.

Scenarios? FINALLY we have some approximation of scenarios, but there are limitations in that you can not alter the time scale nor effect diplomacy between civs. Nor can you alter Culture flipping or razing - crazy concepts that are antithetical to "historic" scenarios.

So, maybe it's worth a look to you. You decide.

Good mod packs? I think the best mod pack is the one you made yourself. :D

It still isn't easy to add new wonders and firaxis still hasn't changed the fact that you can't add new buildings to the birds-eye-view window. You are able to add new wonders though none the less. There are also a couple of threads about common problems poeple have that can save you some trouble.

I think the game is getting better, most definitely. This is due partly to Firaxis with their patches and modders who have really run with this game despite not having an in-depth editor until just recently.

I have been critical of the game in the past, and still today some aspects of it annoy me, but overall I am happy and look forward to Play the World.

No.

Actually, I hear there are a few quite decent ones out by now, even without the diploedit function.
