Where are bought great works stored?

When I buy great works, they aren't in my great works screen to organise. Where do they go? I assumed they went in the same slots, because often an AI player refuses to sell me one for no reason, which I assumed was because I had nowhere to put it.

That is correct, you can only buy works if you have a free slot for them, otherwise AI will not sell them. Bought works go into suitable free slots, they should be there. If Palace's slot is free, one of the bought works will be put there first. If you have many slots, try to scroll the screen. But if they just disappear, that could be some mod issue, if you use any.

Yeah they disappear, I just bought about 5 of them, and only have 2 displayed, which I believe were already there. I don't have the slots for any more than 2.

So I tried selling the surplus 4, and on the next turn it updated to:
+79.8 culture became +67.7
32 tourism became 12
Strangely +38.7 religion became +40.6
So I'm guessing they still provide what they're meant to, but are on a secret unofficial display? Not sure why in that turn I ended up with more religion.

That is very odd, I've never had that happen. As stated it usually doesn't let you buy them if you don't have slots for them.

Yes, I can't buy any more. It's still limiting it, but at the wrong level. Some part of the game thinks I have more slots than I do. The slots are functional and giving me culture etc, but not displayed or able to be shuffled for maximum effect. Although until I create more slots, I couldn't do much shuffling anyway. I'll just accept it and treat it as unofficial slots in unauthorised museums. He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Did you trade for all 5 in the same deal? It's possible that it doesn't check the full depth. ie. to trade for any great work, it checks if you have a slot for it. But it doesn't account for the other great works already included in the trade offer. If that's the case, then trading for them one at a time probably would have prevented dealing for them after the first 2.

When you search the Great Work on the map, does the searching tool manage to find the location? What about the Tourism lens: are there some tiles that display weird numbers?

Did you stop at 6 great works total because it wouldn't let you buy any more or just because?

I wonder if there's some bug where it thinks you are Kongo on the backend but not on the front end. Kongos palace can hold 5 great works.

I bought each one seperately, but in the same conversation. So the AI had a chance to say no to each subsequent one.
As in I offered it, he gave me a price, I accepted. Then I offered the next and so on.
But it refused to give me another, so it's not just forgetting to stop me, but having the wrong limit.

It does not find the hidden ones, but it does find the two I can see.

It only shows two numbers, both zero. On the capital where one of the visible works is, and on a holy site where the other is. Should it not be showing tourism for those? I see 12 Tourism in my great works screen for the two I can see.

Possibly - look at my list of mods - there are extra civs added, and some adjustments to some civs - I can't remember if those are official mods or not.

It seems like a bug because it shouldn't let you buy any more than what you can buy.

You don't seem to have any mods, that all looks like official context. Uncheck official content and only leave community created content checked and see if there's anything left.

My guess is they were "hidden" in your palace.

Checking.... yes, all official. I did download a load of unofficial ones, but the game really screwed up so I removed some. I guess I removed all of them.

Indeed, hence a screwup with which civ I am, as suggested earlier.
