Which political party do you choose in the beginning?

Tell me who's going to be racing down the research tree quicker - the rich Neutral Federalist who buys 20+ Neutral Learning Centers on the turn they become available and 20 or so more on the next turn - or the poor to fair Technologist who has to wait for all those to be built?

The Technologist who has advanced factories on his planets, and can build those learning centers fast without spending a dime.

Pacifist with Influence victory disabled. I would pick none, but that is not possible. I also don't pick any race abilities. Only on challenging level right now - can't seem to win against Intelligent level.

Just made my own Party for Intelligent games: The 'Technocrats' (do not confuse with the 'Technologists')

The problem, I think has less to do with the political parties as such, but is more about the population growth rate: With 1.1 it has become so very hard to establish enough colonies fast enough or to make enough tax money at start up: Population growth levels are so slow that other Civs can easily over run you (and they will overun one merely because while one now needs to totaly focus on land grab, the war fleet is basicaly nonexistent). Once they grab a few planets within your area of ("alarming") influence this will fuel they eagerness to destro you even more- something I think is badly implemented in the game- after all its them settling in foreign space, not oneself settling in theirs.

Federalists, with the money my fleet is often the most powerful anyway plus my research will go quickly and I can make even more money selling the techs off.
