Who should replace Angus Deayton as host of HIGNFY?

Charles Kennedy's presenting an episode in December
I hope he does a good job because maybe that will covince people that the Liberals do have a sense of humour...probably not though. I suppose we are destined to remain in the shadows of the political world until I become leader.
Boris is doing this week's one
Can't wait.

I have to say it was very funny but sadly I don't think he would be a good long term host...

His lack of teleprompter reading skills were funny but probably wouldn't be in the long run. The whole coconuts thing was hiliarous though.

"Here are your coconuts, from the party that always keeps its promises..."

I couldnt stop laughing!

But as a long term host he wouldnt work, Ian and Paul would be making fun of him all the time instead of all the polit.....hmm.....

i think lisa turbuck handled them quite well but yet again i dont think she could last as a permant host :( what to do ?

She wasn't very good at reading the autocue, I thought.

It's funny how presenters who are very good at presenting 'live', off the cuff, shows are hopeless at reading jokes - something that Deayton was very good at.

It just goes to show you how much skill is involved in reading an autocue. It is definitely one of those jobs that looks a lot easy than it is.

True. A bit like typing, apparently. :p

Typing doesn't look easy, at least not at the speed some of the people I have seen do it. On a completely unrelated point, being funny is a lot harder than it looks. Isn't that right Pillager?

I have no idea. Forced humour often seems to be pretty humourless, MrPresident.

Being funny is a comedian's profession. If he can't manage funny when his life is at stake, then he hardly deserves the title of comedian.

How many people can do their job's when their life is at stake? (Apart from the military etc) I can't imagine a ballerina being able to do swan lake knowing that sniper could take them down at any time. And being funny is hard at the best of times, I can't imagine how hard it would be at the worst.
