Why doesn't it work?

If you go on youtube and search "corrupting super mario bros" you get all kinds of funny results. But when I download the program they use (CORRUPT) and try it myself, nothing happens (or all it does is freeze up with un-funny noises). Any suggestions? (Google brings up a bunch of people complaining the downloads are broken on some site or another.)

What downloads? The corrupt program or the ROM or the emulator?

It does work. How about telling us what range you're using and what you're doing to the bytes
