Why was the thread deleted?

Is there a good reason that the thread called Saturday februari 15, (I think Mojotronica or someone from Holland had started it) referring to a list of locations of worldwide peace demonstrations, was deleted entirely from the Off Topic forum?

There was no profanity or flaming in it. Knight Dragon has just responded a while before. Now the thread is gone. Not locked, just gone. Makes no sense.

I guess maybe it fell under the "read my lips, no new Iraq threads" policy, a policy which I applauded (war debate is pointlessly overdone). However I think it is a bit of a stretch; it was one thread where people were calmly sharing information. And the peace day celebrations aren't just about the war in Iraq, but all wars going on or coming up.

Likely gone for being largely Iraq war content. I weighing its fate myself (giving it an overnight repose).

Oh, I wondered where that thread had gone. Still, anything to limit the Iraq threads. A worthy subject, but at risk of being overdone.

New item, same topic, no need to open a new thread:

I am watching my postcount every day and it seems like I lose two or three posts a day. Are older threads being destroyed in the archives? Is someone slowly blanching the threads of my posts? Am I going through the DTs?

Just wondering...

Indeed so, when threads are deleted from the archives the posts therin are removed from postcount. Very senior posters may have lost over a thousand posts.
