Will Civ 4 be clean?

What I enjoyed about Civ 3 was even with all of the forests, deserts, roads and railroads, water, rivers, cities, borders, and tons of units, the game looked ver clean and pleasing to the eye. It didn't feel crowded and like I would have trouble clicking or finding something. Looking at one of the Civ 4 screenshots the map looks crowded and jumbled up, partly because everything is so big now. Will it be clean and sharp before it's eventually released?

Yes. I think that theyn are finishinjg and polishing the graphics.

I hope the end-product ends up much less cluttered. I like the fact we have a ton of new eye candy, but sometime too much is, well, too much.

Some ppl noted that it seemed as though the units had decreased in size in the latest screenshots - I hope so. Much of their work on 3D art will be wasted if the screen is too cluttered.

Another reason why it might look cluttered is because it is not your game. When looking at a friends game everything looks confusing and cluttered. But, if it were your own then it would not be cluttered because you are used to the surroundings and what is happening,

Yeah. Trust me, in no more than a few hours you get used to it. I wouldn't worry about that at all.

You must be kidding right? In Civ 3, when all your land is fully railroaded and mined or irrigated it just looks like someone ate a spaghetti dish and threw up.

Now it would be different if roads actually cost maintenance, as they correctly should, instead of giving a gold bonus.

I think it will be better than what we've seen, but still not as polished as we might expect. After all, this is their first game with a 3d Engine. Civ V will be when that polish emerges.

Well, they have already made Pirates!.

I will only accept a clean box wrapped in plastic and in a clean bag with no groceries in it.

I'd like my copy of Civ IV to come with hotdogs, fries, and a drink. ;)

It would be appropriate for Civ4 to come with at least a 48 hour supply of food so we don't have to leave the house - maybe a credit at Domino's.

Even better! Next to the buttons for the civilopedia, advisors, etc., there's a button with a pizza slice on it that will automatically order food-delivery for you! :D

I thought it looked horrible during the late-game as well. All those identical mines and railroads. I do think they've solved the mine problem by having many additional land improvements in Civ 4. I have been hoping to see a late-game screenshot, though.

Lets see "I'd like a Civ4 with two cheese burgers, a big mac, three large fries, coke, and two orange sodas, and a Happy Meal."

Still, I really want to be able to set the road "bonus" to -1. This way you will only build the minimum number of roads to connect all cities, and road blocking/pillaging strategies will work.
