Windowed mode

You may be able to add "-w" to the command line of the game shortcut, without the quotes. That's the old way of doing it but I'm not sure if thats who its done now. Give it a shot :)

In My Documents \ My Games \ (whatever you called the Civ IV directory) there should be a set of user-specific info for Civ IV. There's a CivilizationIV.ini or something like that. FullScreen is 0, 1, or ask - ask means you'll get a dialog every time you start the game asking which you want.

There's a bunch of other funky stuff in there, but not sure what exactly they all are.

Edit: That's specifically under the My Documents, to prevent confusion - in addition to the main install. So I have it installed in D:\Games\CivIV, and the ini for me is under C:\Documents and Settings\celeval\My Documents\My Games\CivIV

you better have one hell of a system though. I tried it out with my 2.3ghz 1gigRAM RADEON 9700 system, and it was unplayable . As in, could barely move the mounst at the meun screen.

I played it ok on my system in window mode. There were a couple of minor screen update issues and you have to scroll the window with the keyboard as the mouse won't do it. Only thing was it seemed a bit slower to respond to the space bar to skip a unit but as I didn't play long in fullscreen mode that may be my imagination. It does take time to switch to the next unit. I'm running on dual Athlon MP 2400+ with 1 gig ram and ATI 9600 XT.

Ah, well, lucky you. Now here's my question:

A preview indicated (and displayed) dual monitor support. Where the hell is it? More importantly, how do I get it to function?

I have searched my entire computer and have not found that file. Even through hidden files and folders as well. Any one have any other suggestions?
