If I were to buy windows 7 (to resurrect my dead computer from a virus as threaded before), would I be able to install it on multiple machines or only one?

What are some tips for re-installing an OS system on a machine (i've only installed like this once before and jacked it up as a "parallel" install, annoying boot up problems).

What is the best version of windows 7 for gaming and general computing?

Home Premium 64 bit, only 1 computer

You only get one serial key, and a serial key can only be active on one computer at a time. Do the math.

You can install it on more than 1 machine, but only one would be activated at a time.

You can get a multi-user license that allows installation on more than one PC. I have a 3-user license, for example.

Those also usually make it clear that they can be used on up to x number of pc's at once. They cost accordingly too I believe.

Don't install Win7 on an old computer.

Unless you're a Linux user (you would be advanced enough to figure it out yourself) or Mac user (you don't worry about OS), installing win7 over previous windows has no side effect, the boot menu will be auto-configured.

Windows 7 Works remarkably well on my 2.8Ghz P4 with 1024MB DDR RAM
Haven't tried (yet) on my 700Mhz Athlon (Slot-A) with 512MB SDRAM

And Windows 7 wiped out my Windows 98se installation.

Installing Win98se, WinXP and then Win7 worked, but Win98 was only accessible by first choosing WinXP and then Selecting Win98.
