Chieftain
As far as I understand, Civ 5 uses the current Steam profile name as the player name for multiplayer, or at least it is supposed to; I have 3 systems with Civ 5 on and this has always been the case until Friday (at least that was when the problem was first seen).
Since Fri, Civ 5 on 2 of the systems has started using the Windows account name (Administrator) instead. The 3rd system remains fine with the Steam profile name. The Steam profile names are unchanged.
I've tried deleting local content (including the content in the User directories), and reinstalling but the problem persists. I've also manually changed the "in-game alias" in config.ini, but to no effect. It ignores that entry and uses Administrator.
Any suggestions as what the problem is, how it could have been caused and how I fix it? All 3 systems are Win-7(64).
Grateful for any advice.
