Wonder Movies Freeze Game (any way to help or skip them)

Hello..
During game play on my HP Pavilion Laptop...the wonder movies freeze my gameplay and force me to restart the computer. Here are my specs.

G-Force 4 440 Go 64M
IRQ: 18 BIOS: 4.17.20.49.25

Adapter Info

Bus: AGP 4x
Memory: 64 mb

Processor: Intel x86 Compatible with SSE2
DirectX 9.0

AMD 64 processor
3000+
701 MHz, 512 MB RAM

And I also have my virtual memory up to 1200

The first few games played great although the wonder movies skip a small amount. Now MOST of them (not all of them) cause me to restart the computer. I also have the latest patch. I am in no way a computer guy, so if anyone would care to help me, I'll need the info in detail. Thanks.

Do a search on

CivilizationIV.ini

Open the file with notepad, then find the section dealing with disabling movies.

It'll look like this:

; Set to 1 for no in-game movies
NoMovies = 1

Make sure you have a "1" in there and you're all set.

I have a similar problem, but it is when I discover a new religion. The sound in the "religion movie" is off. it is very noticable with Judaism.
