That smells that your CustomAssets folder isn't as empty as it should be . Perhaps make sure there's nothing custom in it?

Did you click 'extract' on the zip or did you just take it out of the zip file and put it in the mod folder?

I know what that is... (maybe...) I downloaded one of those "no-cd" .exe's from some website thinking it would save me from having to lug my civ cd around with me when I am on trips... But it allowed me to play 10 turns and defeated me. Yeah, a reinstall later, I just use the cd now...

As a side note, the official 2.08 for Warlords originally contained a no-cd hack. I think a few sites are probably still hosting it. It does indeed work, as I innocently dl'd it before the switch, and have been enjoying it since.
