Wonders of destruction

Now, that's what I mean - first they supply the Iranians with modern weaponry, then the Ayatollah gets them after the revolution. Okay, you would think the US would learn from that, but no: They start supplying the Egyptians, who knows how Egypt will look in ten years, or already in five? It's not exactly stable...

One of the most legendary fighter aircraft in the history of war.
The classic Messerschmitt 109!

Ahh, da haben wir den Messerschmitt Bf 109. Mit dem können wir in allen Kriegen siegen!

(Germans, please correct me)

:D

Miko, those are some dashing images!

An oldie, but a goodie! The unique He 111!

It is easy to see that this crate was developed from a mail plane...

Have to disagree there - that'd mean no Gripen, by far the more attractive of the two aircraft, IMHO.

Well, it's at least 50% on topic :)

I understand it was a structural failure during refuelling.

F-16 looks like a smiling plane.
But when you see the F-15 you know it means business. :p

Eurofighter is still the better fighter, the Griffin has speed and looks, but the Eurofighter has Stealth tech, a more powerful power plant + two engine safety and a better weapon load.

But as said, the Gripen is the prettier plane. :D

The plane that helped to inspire the USA's stealth program.

Horten/Gotha 229. This one actually flew. Arrived too late to make any impact.

But it did boost the Allied aeronautical effort...

The Schwalbe will fly again!

And it's in service too!

The degree of stealthiness of EFA/Eurofighter/Typhoon/whatever-it's-going-to-be-called next can be debated endlessly, especially since the people who actually know arren't saying.

But given the time development started, the countries involved (only the UK has been given access to US stealth technology) and just the shape of the aircraft, I'd have to say that Eurofighter's stealthiness is likely only moderate.

Is the Gripen faster? I'd have thought EFA had the edge there - more or less designed around the supersonic manoeuvring case as it was.

I'm very happy Sweden built the Gripen - we need some variety of aircraft. I'm dreading the post-JSF world. Oh, great, here comes another grey F-35 *yawn* :)
