Won't run mod on steam?

I downloaded the c2c7.z file and unzipped it into the BTS MODS folder. I started BTS through steam and entered the load mod screen. c2c was in the list so I selected it and clicked ok. The game quit and then after a few moments restarted. The background screen art remains the original BTS image and there are no c2c options available. I do see the option to unload mod.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I don't have Steam (and never will), but IIRC you need to install mods differently with it. Perhaps try documents\my games\BTS\mods rather than civ4\bts\mods.

I have steam and it runs perfectly fine. Did you try verifying your install via steam's properties of the game?

The steam/civ4bts/bts/mod folder is the correct one. So that is not it, do you have any other mods installed, or is this the first?

I have steam. My folder is under "Program Files -> Steam -> Steamapps -> Common -> Civ 4 BTS -> Beyond the Sword -> Mods -> Caveman2Cosmos". For me at least, there is two files with "Beyond the Sword" in them. Not sure why, but be sure to put your mod file in the second one.

I installed my mod in My document/My games/Beyond the sword/Mods/

Make sure you're 7z is full updated or it won't work properly.

It happend to me. I had a earlier version of 7z and could extract but not all. And when i open the mod it was like you BTS screen. And when i extract it with the lastest version of 7z it works just fine!
