World Age setting

I wondered if anyone would take the time to explain the world age setting to me ? What changes with the age of the world ?

the older you make the world, the less hills and mountains to signify erosion and such
younger: more hills and mountains

In turn that means that if the age is 5 bill you will have trouble locating iron and such because not many hills. If it is 3 bill mountains and every terrain type appear in clusters.

Also, that means 5 billion years is good if you want more growth (less 0 food mountians to deal with and more grasslands and plains). While 3 billion years is good for better for sheild production because of all the hills and mountains.

iron is definately needed through out the game. that's why I always choose 4m.
