I am new to WB so perhaps I am just missing something (especially since there appears to be no manual/guide or even context help available.
I made a small map and since it is my first time I limited it to just 3 civs and 3 CS. I spaced them out across a pangaea type map using starting locations for each civ/cs
I turned off the starting bias just to keep the game from sticking its nose in my business so to speak, but when I go into Mods/single player/setup/adv setup and select my map I have to reconfigure the number of CS to the approppriate number and then select the Civ I want to play and make sure the other two are the ones I planned for.
The civs end up NOWHERE near their selected starting positions. What is a starting position for if when you set it up on one end of the continent the AI decides to put it on the other side? I turned off starting bias so that the AI would not insert its desires.
I started several times and the player civ started several hexes from the start position but the CS and other civs never were near theirs at all. In setup I turned down CS to zero to see what would happen. After my first move, I saw a culture border pop for a CS and one of the other civs popped a city 3 to 4 hexes from my starting position.
I scanned the subforums of the Civ5 creation and customization forum for a subforum devoted to questions about WB etc and did not see one. I am hoping I created this thread in the proper location. MODERATORS feel free to move this post to a more appropriate location if there is one. Thanks.
