I like to play Civ II multiplayer with friends. We like to use the world map but there are balance problems. For example no one wants to be on the North American Continent because they will see no action for a long time. Also the English and Chinese are much stronger than the other Civs. Are there any other cool maps that you guys might recommend?

There's an enormous scale Great Britain that I used to enjoy, though I think I've mislaid it now. Everyone on one landmass, lots of good food land in the south and production land in the north. There was a good scenario played on it set vaguely in the time of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms (I seem to remember Wessex, Mercia and a Scottish Islands civ.) In fact, if anyone can remember the name of that .scn or .mp please let me know so I can reacquaint myself with it. Other than that, the Giga-world map is hours of fun, though you hit the city limit quite quickly.

Seeing no action for a long time can be a bonus; when you aren't hassled by other civs and are able to spread out and develop the entire American landmass, and finally have such productive power that you can wipe out every other civ in a single turn...
