In this Thread the World Spells are described. Here's an outline of some strategies I use for specific spells. I would appreciate others helping with the thread for a reference for new players, as World Spells can be confusing.

Amurites- Arcane Lacuna: As someone mentioned on the original thread, Arcane Lacuna's a great way to get the Tower of Mastery. Develop eight nodes, build the first two towers, arcane lacuna all your mana back to raw, develop the next eight nodes, and then build the next two towers.
Balseraphs- Revelry:
Bannor- Rally:
Calabim- River of Blood: A very good spell for early game. It can sky rocket you to your happiness limt, while destroying your enemies economy for a long time. I usually cast it when I start on my first settler.
Clan of Embers- For the Horde: This spell is very tempermental. On a terra map cast it early, but commonly I would cast it when you see your first lizardman, and then declare war on everyone. The lizardmen will be able to defeat quite a few of the rival civs.
Doviello- Wild Hunt:
Elohim- Sanctuary:
Grigori- Ardor:
Hippus- Warcry:
Infernal- Hyborems Whisper:
Khazad- Motherlode:
Kuriotates- Legends: I cast this when I've built my last city. The thrid ring can be worked almost immediatley. Also you can use it to trap rival civs from expanding.
Lanun- Raging Seas:
Ljosalfar- March of the Trees: When the world superpower attacks you with hordes of SoDs this is a lifesaver. You however, sacrifice your economy to do this. I don't think it should ever be cast during peactime, as mass starvation will ensue. It's mostly a lategame spell, as you need all the forests you can get.
Luchuirp- Gifts of Nantosuelta:
Malakim- Religious Fervor:
Mercurians- Divine Retribution:
Sheaim- Worldbreak:
Sidar- Into the Mist:
Svartalfar- Veil of Night:

Balseraphs: Revelry. (requires Festivals Tech)

Settings: MP, no_barbs, quick speed

1) Since I start with Ag, I like to beeline to writing and snag the free sage. Only someone who starts with Ag or Ancient AND beelines writing AND has better land will beat you to it (I play Bals with Kandros - fin/agg/ing).

Then:

2) Golden age with free sage, tech mystic, change civics (all 4, for free), build elder council ASAP and run sage - build academy with sage that pops.

Then try to get a sage and merchant for a third golden age (including world spell) or just one and tech military strat later for a great general + sage or merchant GA.

Anyway, after mystic:

Tech festivals, world-spell golden age (18 turns), tech religion, convert for free, (possibly secondary religious tech and civic change again for free).

Then tech a 2300 (quickspeed) beaker tech that goes with my religion (generally, FOL + commune, Order + Righteousness, or Esus + Guilds). I'd love to try AV + Divine, but without barbs, there are no high priests... 26xp on a disiple unit... turn 160+... might as well go for an altar or tower victory.

Druids, Paladins, or Shades (Loki being pointless in MP and an exploit in SP, I never build him) with accompanying religious Heros + a little fodder (axes, champs, taskmasters, harliquins, etc) ftw

On advanced start (default 341 pts), I spend turns 25-61 in golden age (sage, worldspell, sage+merchant). Without advanced start, it begins a few turns later.

ps. If I'm going FOL (my favorite), I like a to generate 1 bard. He grabs drama and yields a free bard. The free one builds song (for yvain and druid's affinity), and excess bards lightbulb commune. It's not really worth running bards to lightbulb commune though - so using one for that is more of a fix than a strat (usually because freak show caused one extra).

As someone mentioned on the original thread, Arcane Lacuna's a great way to get the Tower of Mastery. Develop eight nodes, build the first two towers, arcane lacuna all your mana back to raw, develop the next eight nodes, and then build the next two towers.

Tried it last night and got my first Tower of Mastery victory on Prince.
