WorldMasters Diplomacy Tournament

Flatlander Fox is active in another forum, the PM he sent was probably an invitation.

Richard III is also active there and numerous other civfanatics of the old-school in many cases:

Might be worth getting those non-Tourney games in so we can put a team in.

It'd be better if we get in training sooner so we send in a stronger team, at the very least one with no nmmers.
I have just registered at Redscape and plan to join the first available standard game opening there in preparation for (hopefully) joining CFC's team in the tournament.

I've been promoted to Attache there. I guess it has nothing to do with success there...

Nope. It's based on the number of turns played in redscape games, balanced against NMRs.

You guys start that new variant game over there yet, Gnarf?

The Crowded one? Yes, we've finished 1907, and I'm still alive, but my empire is starting to decline due to Spanish and English treachery. They've let the Turks out of the bottle I've worked so hard to keep them in all game, and the Spanish wouldn't let me get my fleets into position to finish the Turks, and ultimately turned on me to destroy the Austrian Navy...

If you refer to the Pure Diplomacy variant, it was completed in 1905, with Austria taking home the solo.

Yeah, I was thinking of the Crowded variant game. What name is the game running under?

I would have loved to get in on that one, but with summer drawing to a close and work looming over me, I'm glad I didn't. I'm hanging on in 1910 in a standard game with no signs of a clear winner yet, and moving into 1902 in a really interesting no-press game where we do all communication on the forum. That's two too many games for a teacher in the last week of August :p

PS: Congrats to Keirador/Italy over in Dancing with the Devil!

It's under Malthusian Nightmare. Once things settle here (seeing if you and a bunch of others are back for a while) and the players are ready I might see if I can get 11 players for one here...

Hmm. What about the Lowlands? They look like they're getting ready to cause some trouble for England.

I don't foresee getting into a game with that many diplomats to deal with any time soon. It'd be a great summertime game though.

England has been Hammering them, and had a major Break through against them. I may be able to fight back the English, but make no guarantees on holding off the Turks, and really trust Spain as far as I can throw them...

I have, too, but I don't see any standard games available at Redscape.

Toasty is now active in the forum again, and I see he was on the team last time 'round. Flatlander Fox seemed to be a leading light, and he's. . . minimally active in the forum. Magnus. . . well, maybe he can be persuaded to return. There are also players who weren't on the team last time, but clearly have a lot of skill. Clash of the Titans has a couple complete newcomers who show promise. Kitten, you're pretty much by default and (what I take to be) unanimous consent the CivDip captain, what do you say CivDip picks a team and gets a standard game together for training purposes?

There is now a standard game available at Redscape, named "Conquer the Globe". I have just joined, and I think there are still two spots available.
