Would a map scaling python script be useful?

I've been wanting to do some code stuff with the game, and just from experiences I've had, I thought it would be useful to write a python script that can:
  • Scale WBsaves up or down to different map sizes
  • Flexible resolution of conflicts created by scaling maps down
  • Flexible methods of adding new things when scaling maps up
  • And maybe ways of doing other large scale transformations programatically that are annoying to do by hand
I've had a number of times I've wanted to do this kind of thing back when I played with the world builder a few years ago, and thought it'd probably be a nice thing to have, as well as a fun little programming project. Would anyone be interested in this?
