I'm not for terrorism to be included in any civilization games. The game should be celebrating human achievements, not human stupidity.

Human achievements like the eradication of other nations, the development of more powerful weapons to kill others and the bombing of cities with nuclear weapons?

And Stalin? :mischief:

Don't forget slavery.

The whole idea of terrorism would NOT be implemented by a true expansion. However, nothing says you can't mod it in.

Stupid or not, we live in a very politically correct era. This is the reason (I believe) that the modern age is so bland. Look at the misnomer of global warming. It should be that radiation clouds poison people and moves. However, nobody wants to think about a giant cloud going around poisoning people.

I would like to see a return of tactical nukes and paratroopers. Paratroopers were a critical part of World War 2. I would love to see my paratroopers jetting in and sabatoging(sp?) an enemy's oil supply. A quick war to fly in to bring down resources to delay a rival from achieving space victory. Secure railways so as to march in fast. A guerrilla unit would be a great idea.

I think nuclear negotiations to bluff nukes and such would have a real aspect on the era, as well as a MAD system (already being worked on by I think Dale and theLopez). And a revamp to the UN would be terrific. No longer will one be limited to Emancipation and Environmentalism. No, spread your slaving, pacifist communism instead! Enforce Facism! Or, an oddball, a barbaric despot leading a pagan... you get the idea.

Focused ONLY on the modern era though? That I really don't know.

Thelopez done one so that the ICBM kills off everything including the city and turns that city square into coast. (grassland for mine now I edited it)

Dale is also working on one with SDK. with dales one you can pre-program your ICBM's with targets so if that civ launches one at you your programed nukes fire back without you going through them to fire one at a time so its like the dooms day device, (almost done)

Also I have been testing with dales combat mod, cruise missiles (done) code can also be used for any unit you want to die at the end of its turn just add the missile tag in unitinfos.xml. and true stack combat (done) all units in the stack take part in the fight.

Hmm I just thought... Slavery... Where do the slaves come from? Slaves resource... Enslaving captured cities like in RTW? Or mabe importing them from vassals? I think we're missing a trick here...

An XP which gives another era after 2050, with futurist technologies buildings and units, like in CTP.

Still doesn't solve the problem of the game being decided/over by modern age...

The only reason the game is done by the modern times is because the game starts way before that. so if there was to be an xp, they would have to start it in modern times.

I think most people are missing this point. Any modern times xp would be worthless, otherwise.

You can start a regular Civ game in any age. It has some goofy aspects, though. Techs with accompanying religions are already researched, so the religions are assigned randomly(?) to the various Civ's. Wonders associated with already researched techs can still be built. I've heard the AI doesn't seem to go after those wonders very aggressively, although I don't know that by personal experience.

If there was an xp that cleaned up the various oddities mentioned above, that might be worthwhile.
