Ok, I suck monkey balls. I just completed my fastest game ever. I just got the barbarian uprising surprise (or what ever they are called, you know random event thingy) and of course since I didn't have anyone close to me, it was left undefended.

Well 3 turns later, game over, they took over my capital. At least it was a different game, I thougt I could use the same strategy for almost every game, like build my first city, make a scout, then a settler but boy oh boy did I pay the price, I am Dan Quale now LOL.

Guess I will have to rethink my strategy now, witch is good. It will not be the same game again.

So this game lasted under an hour maybe half hour LOL. I didn't think I could be owned this fast lol.

So what is your shortest game that was completed legally.

Win or Lose?

Lose was probably the same situation as you only ten or so minutes.

Win was probably around 45 minutes conquest.

I lost in about 10 minutes due to a barbarian uprising of 4 swordsmen vs. my 1 warrior. I got a big fat 0 on that game and had to go and delete that nonsense from my Hall of Fame.

I think my fastest victory was around 3 hours or so. I am a pretty slow player.

My first victory, and only took me 2 months too play. It was a space race. How you win conquest in 45min? How many civs did you play?

I can't even fanthom how anyone could do that.

It was a small map and I'm just a generally fast player. Not as fast as TMIT but still pretty fast. And it was a super good start (2 gold, cow, horses, and 2 corn good)

On duel maps with inca? Like 1-3 minutes. I forget exactly.

On standard maps my record again depends on condition and difficulty. You'd need a standard or comparisons wouldn't be worthwhile.

Wait... what?

The barbarian uprising bug / feature was fixed in 0.37. Now it only triggers if you have the counter for the unit (IE. Archers enable the archer event, spears enable the horsemen event, axes enable the swordsmen, and spearmen event, and chariots enable the axeman event)

But otherwise, I don't change my strategy on that single event... it never occurs for me, after 0.37, if I didn't have 2 cities anyway!

It can still happen the turn after you get the tech. So you get some six archer on your doorstep before you even have the chance to start building one.

My 1st attempt with random civs - small, I won a conquest on turns 11!!!! :crazyeye:

Spoiler :

Somehow, I was lonely in that planet.... And No, I don't have the save.

My shortest game was my very first vanilla game. It seemed like ten minutes until the barbarians overwhelmed my warrior defending my only city.

On my preferred settings, a religious victory is probably the earliest. Usually the AP is built before I can get armies to all of the continents.

Shortest ever game I had was a conquest win in 1 turn...

Completely forgot to add AI players to the "custom game" I was playing...

HAHAHA

I still remember saying to myself, "Wow, I've never seen this movie before... Oh I must've forgotten something..."

LMFAO oh that is good. That reminds me when on turn one I went into world builder to see how it works. I was trying to start the game in a different postion in the earth map, and killed of my 2 starting units, I forgot to add my settler and warrior, and volia, game over. I didn't count that as a game since I was trying it out on how it works.

Same for me here. Barbarians can be pretty nasty, especially if you like to turn on Raging Barbarians like I always do. :)

On a multiplayer game that I played in vanilla, my friend capured my worker on a duel map. He took the worker back to his city, The turn he retreated into his city, I captured it. The game still considered the worker to be mine, and since the criteria of capturing a city apparently were ' having a unit into an opponents city' it did not matter if the worker could attack or not, just that it reached the city no matter how well it was defended.

Needles to say, when asked if I wanted to capture of raze the city, I pressed raze and won by conquest. Thanks buggy game! :D
