Since release of BNW I experience problems when starting a new game on the Giant World Map (YnAEMP v22, 43civs.dll, leaderfix for BNW). The allocation of luxuries, strategic and food resources seems to be broken when abundant or riche is selected :
- Wheat for example is almost never placed while Truffles are placed in dozens.
- Cotton is mostly placed on desert tiles (no Flood Plains).
- Sahara and Arabian Desert are almost completely filled with Cotton and Incense.
- Forests are to a huge part just filled with Deer.
...
Usually I start a new game and then save the map and view the resource-placement with the WorldBuilder to check if placement was ok.
Were there major changes to the Resource-Placing System with BNW?
Which LUA-function in which file is actually doing the placing?
Can it be fixed?
At the moment I have a workaround by using a map "Earth_Giant_blank.Civ5Map" with handplaced resources to start a new game. It is a lot of work placing thousands of resources on all continents by hand. The YnAEMP Mod does not remove any resource in the file but maybe adds some more resources. Using handplaced resources takes away some of the fun exploring the world so I'm still looking for a good random resource-placement function for YnAEMP (43 civs, Giant World Map).
